mvp's definition of standards

Our Definition of "Standards"

It must be noted that in the paranormal field there is not an established set of standards, and MVP recognizes this. When we use the term "standards", MVP thinks of the term in a different light. When we state that we hold ourselves to higher standards, we mean that we hold ourselves to higher ethics and morals. We cannot deny that our military background imposes a set of ethics and moral values that we hold in high regards. Taking that into consideration, MVP's standards also encompass our military values. We will not compromise our moral integrity and we hold honor above all.

When we refer to "standard equipment", we are referring to equipment that is commonly used. Though we recognize that there is equipment that is currently being used to investigate the paranormal that is questionable in terms of its production and reliability, we do use technology in our investigations. However, we are making every effort to understand how to appriopriately use the equipment that we have, as well as notate the limits of what it can and cannot do. We do participate in training seminars with outside resources, some of which are involved in paranormal research, some of which are developers of the technology that we use, and some of which are simply professionals working in a respective field (such as historians, professional photographers, audio engineers, etc.) to better understand the equipment and the data it provides. To be clear, there is no single piece of equipment to date that can 100% guarantee it can capture or produce information that proves the paranormal. However, there is equipment that can assist in gathering data that may explain natural phenomena or eliminate other sources/phenomena from being considered when conducting paranormal investigations. We use technology in our investigations and in our research and ALWAYS seek outside review of data that we cannot understand or explain. We do not use equipment that has been proven to be unreliable nor do we use equipment and technology in a way it was not meant to be used. For example, we do not use Gauss meters to prove the presence of "spirits". We use them to gather data to calculate the measurement of ELF/EMF in a particular location.

Again, we must reiterate that there is no established set of standards in the paranormal community. The community is rich with eclectic individuals from all walks of light. Some have a higher moral compass than others. Some have no issue using equipment that we will not use. We respect their decisions and understand that our definition of "standards" may be completely different from others.
